New Rapid Prototyping Systems from RAMPF Tooling

To further expand its current product range, RAMPF Tooling based in Grafenberg has developed a range of two component rapid prototyping systems. The high reactive polyurethane systems with thermoplastic like properties were first introduced at Euromold 2007.

RAMPF Tooling from Grafenberg gives your ideas shape. At Euromold 2007 the modeling specialist presented a complete package solution: from boards to liquid systems.

The new RAKU-TOOL® polyurethane products allow for an easy and fast imitation of materials like polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) as well as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). With the development of the new systems the tooling specialist is setting standards in rapid prototyping. As the name implies the technology stands for a very quick way to produce sample parts and models. It is increasingly used for functionality testing based on series parts or near series parts. In this way construction or design faults can be detected at an early stage of the development.

The prototyping systems from RAMPF Tooling should primarily save the user time and money during the product development phase. They can be used for the efficient as well as quick production of prototypes, functional prototype parts, pilot and small series.
The systems are processed via low-pressure metering and mixing equipment. Ad-vantages are that the materials have a short demold time, show no brittle phase and are impact and temperature resistant. Contrary to thermoplastic systems the RAKU-TOOL prototyping systems can already be used to produce a small number of parts. Thermoplastic systems are processed using an injection molding process which is normally only economically viable when large quantities are produced since the investment for the tools is very high. A further advantage of the RAKU-TOOL rapid prototyping systems is that they can be injected into relatively simple plastic molds made out of epoxy or polyurethane resins instead of metal. As a one stop shop supplier for the modeling market RAMPF Tooling also supplies board materials like MB-0720, WB-1404, WB-1000 or Close Contour Casting systems CC-6507 for the production of such molds.
